Collection consists of 46 drawings and map by W. K. Fisher, 1 map drawn by Esteban Munras, and 3 prints. Most of the material was done for the book, The Salinas: Upside-down River by Anne B. Fisher. There are also a title page with illustration, a map, and an end page illustration for Anne Fisherʼs novel, Cathedral in the Sun.

Anne B. Fisher was born Evelyn Anne Benson on February 1, 1898, in Denver, Colorado. She attended the University of Denver and the University of Colorado Medical School, and trained a a nurse. After graduation in 1918, she worked as a field bacteriologist for the U.S. Bureau of Animal Industry and established a clinical laboratory in Salinas in 1920. Dr. Walter K. Fisher was a notable marine biologist, an authority on starfish and sea urchins. He took his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Stanford University in the first decade of the 20th century and was director of its Hopkins Marine Laboratory in Pacific Grove, from 1917 to 1943. In 1922, he wed Anne Benson, who became a prominent writer under her married name, Anne B. Fisher.
